Inspire young designers collaborate with Livesey Exchange for London Design Festival 2020

During the 12th – 20th September 2020, Livesey Exchange (LEX – a grassroots project initiated by Nicholas Okwulu to transform 60 garages into workshops, studios and multidisciplinary spaces) hosted an opening for London Design Festival with numerous artists who live locally including Girls about Peckham, Daniel Oduntan, ChromaYoga, Bri Peprah Designs, The CrazyCoolSexy, Sculptures by Roland Lawar, Conceptual artisit Jade Chorkularb, DAPS, All Ear Studios, Sculptor & painter Ali Mousawi, GeoD by Samantha-J, Ilayda Bakare and more.

After conversations with Nicholas during the lockdown period – our Senior Caseworker Steven Davies concluded to utilize a unit where InSpire could call upon people who have worked with us to present their work. Thankfully we got the green light and we got the following people –

  • Spotlight 1st
  • MSL
  • 2inSpire w/Harriet Hill
  • House of Balloons
  • DrawitwithYioti
  • Fernene Amour

After a week of cleaning our unit, we managed to set up and create a space where visitors could come and find out some more about us – the work we do – and also create networking opportunities for the people who displayed their work in our section.

Take a look at the video to get a better understanding of the facility and how it was used by the LEX (Livesey Exchange Team)
