InSpire officially opened its doors in 2003, the brain child of St Peter’s then Rector, Giles Goddard who, in 2001 set out to achieve his vision of turning the Crypt of St Peter’s church into a thriving community facility for local residents.
In 2005 we added 2InSpire Youth Arts Centre to our portfolio. This great youth facility was created on the nearby Aylesbury Estate and is a hub of creative youth work and arts based programmes for local young people.
Both centres provide vital support, services and safe community spaces in an area going through one of the largest and most controversial regeneration programmes that London has seen for generations.
InSpire is a non-religious organisation, serving those of all faiths and none, but to this day we retain a close and supportive relationship with St Peter’s Church.
