Local Councillor Lorraine Lauder, has lived in Walworth all her life and is very passionate about the area and as a child went to Michael Faraday School. There is a strong local connection with both her dad and husband working as councillors over the years and she has been known by many as the champion of East Street Market through having originally worked there. Her parents also set up the charity called The People’s Care Association in Southwark of which she is now the Director. In 2011-2012 Lorraine took the post of Mayor of Southwark which proved to be really enjoyable. All this good work contributed to Lorraine receiving an MBE.
