Aims and objectives
Aim
InSpire aims to provide centres of learning, arts and community, where local people can unlock their potential by obtaining new skills, increasing their confidence and developing a sense of community.
Objectives
- To encourage community through outreach, tackling social exclusion and economic disadvantage particularly among older people, single parents and young people
- To offer facilities for education and learning, especially in Information Technology and basic skills, encouraging confidence and communication so that people can enter or re-enter employment
- To ensure the InSpire is fully accessible and usable by people with disabilities
- To recognise local diversity through the activities offered, enabling different local communities to meet and communicate
- To work in partnership with local service providers to offer a range of complementary community activities and clubs particularly for young people
- To maximise the potential of the building through use of the arts, drama, and music
